Jazz up your crap the ugly figurine addition. So it has bee a week I have had lots of work on custom stuff going on. However I came across this in my own pile of things I used to love but would now like to toss off a cliff. I thought it could use some sprucing.
Then the magical folks over at Custommade.com first wrote me to tell me they never took an application from then wrote me back to say no thank you keep your bat shit to yourself. I kid I am sure they are very nice people but I used that rage of not getting accepted to inspire this. OK so maybe a bit tongue and cheek but you know we creators need our inner rage.
So consider this your friendly reminder that if you have terrible things sitting at your house send them to me and I will give them a whole new life for you and in return you get your new item and nightmares. If you want to purchase a jazzing up of your crap go here. https://www.etsy.com/listing/89376408/jazz-up-your-crap?ref=shop_home_active_4

It has been forever but I am back.
This is what happens when I find an old ugly ass frame. It was wood and weird sizes. At first I thought about making a purse out of it but then I thought hey what does a ugly ass old frame need but some portraits of peanut butter and jelly. I wrapped the frame with a little batting then used my heavy duty staple gun to attach the fabric to it. It is not perfect and won't go in my shop but it was a fun trial and I saw a couple of things. First you do not need to leave extra fabric for the inside just pull not super taunt and it will let you work with it. Second less fucking batting it looks like it has butt cracks in several places. Hope you have enjoyed this idea.

Ipod to headstone New jazzed up crap has happened.
So this might be one of my favorite jazzing up of craps yet. My friend got this for her son from a lady who was selling her used one and it was a total fucking lemon. Then the person was rude to her about taking it back. So my friend because the creative soul she is said screw that and sent it to me to turn into something for her.
I turned it into the headstone you see in the little Halloween decoration you see there. It has a little gargoyle, ghost and some flowers on the grave. I hope this makes you all laugh. Remember it is the perfect season to send me something to jazz up for your holidays. Here is a link to buy your own jazzing up of crap if you need it. https://www.etsy.com/listing/89376408/jazz-up-your-crap?ref=shop_home_feat

Jazz up your crap has happened again
This is something I finished this last week but realized I had forgotten to share over here. This is my jazzed up broken ass guitar. It has been jazzed up from one end to the other. It has a hand sewn clown head. Then the whole thing has been painted and then inside turned into a doll house/dream world. Here is a link if you would like to see close ups of the photos. https://www.etsy.com/listing/159716178/guitar-doll-house-diorama-crazy-town?ref=shop_home_feat

Dead guitar getting new life
So look at this shit I am doing a second post in a week or two. So here is the story. I do Jazz up crap for people when they ask but often I just take it on myself to jazz up some crap. This broken Fender came to me from a guy names Doug on Freecycle. Thanks Doug. I told him what I was going to do with it just in case he would not be happy about it but Doug was awesome and said cool can you send me photos. I also left Doug a random painting as thanks for this and another guitar. So Now I needed to make something. Well my friend showed me a gorgeous little doll house a lady made for her daughter from one and that inspired me to do my own little doll house style diorama.
The picture above it the first most basic steps in the progress and more will come as this project comes together. For now it looks like a guitar with eyes and a giant gaping mouth.
Hope you enjoyed your jazz up your crap in progress.

Sharpie and alcohol jazzing up a doily
So I love to jazz up crap for other people but this was first not really crap just a little dull and I wanted to make it work for me. So the above photo is of some plain white doilies my friend sent me. I love them and am using some as plain white but I wanted to do something special with this one. It is for the Fall. I love decorating for the fall and wanted it to match my Fall decorations and be the place to set a ceramic pumpkin I love. So I tried out a cool thing I saw in a crafting group. I used sharpie to make a design.
This was my design I was hoping it would melt some and become like a water color. Now some people say to pull the fabric tight and use an eye dropper. I am sure those work great but I applied the alcohol with a paint brush. Then at the end I gave it a quick wash in alcohol and rinsed and dried.
This is what I ended up with and I love it. This will be perfect for my Fall decorations and it was easy and fun to do. So there you go folks jazz up your crap. Also I do not remember what link I saw first but I like this one so here it is. http://handmakemyday.com/2012/04/30/crafternoon-sharpie-marker-scarves/

Holy shit it has been a month.
Well it has been a month since I was featured all over the place and I am still getting sales and contacts from that. Oddly enough none for Jazzing up your crap but that does not stop me I jazz up my own crap when left with nothing else. So this is what I did to a leprechaun statue that was all beige and frankly boring as fuck. I hope you enjoy the little commentary on each image.

Jazzing up your crap has a ass kicking week
So this week my little Jazz up your crap line got a big boost. It was featured on the Buzzfeed. Here is a link if you would like to see it. http://www.buzzfeed.com/alannaokun/etsy-seller-will-give-your-crappy-gifts-a-makeoverNow how cool is that. Feeling very luck and happy over here. The photo above is a jazzing up of crap for my main shop. You can see links to it on the right of this post. It is a soap dish I turned into a salute to Mardi Gras. Thanks all for your time.

Ugly Collage frames give it a new life
This post is all about doing the unexpected. I came across this large beaten up wood frame meant to hold family photos. Well I hate them to me collage frames like that usually have no real theme and that takes away from the individual photos. So here is what I did. First I painted the whole thing white and then I painted in the photos. They are all woodland animals turned into little painted snap shots. The wood looks so much fresher this antiqued white than it did as a scratched up beaten up old walnut.
Then I loved how it looked but wanted something to unite it all so I went with the big vine and flowers scroll type thing. It is not my favorite design but it would bring this together nicely. Now I at the least of a creative work not some old half assed frame. Hope you have enjoyed this post of Jazzing up your crap. This will be available later this week in my etsy shop www.cappysue.etsy.com Thanks for your time

First Jazzing up of 2013 taking on dull art
I loved the general idea of these prints but they were boring and really needed some sprucing up. A day later with some help from a little paint I have these.
This one is listed in my Etsy shop. https://www.etsy.com/listing/119413289/octopus-alien-and-sasquatch-invasion

I have this one which is not in my shop yet. These are a lot of fun and something you can do with most any old unwanted prints. Hope this made you all smile.

New Year new crap to Jazz
Well this blog has been quiet for far to long we need to bring out our shockingly odd and loud crafts and let everyone know about them. This was made with a broken Santa head. When life gives you a broken Santa head you mount that bitch. So here is to hoping we get a real following this year and see many crazy jazzings of crap.
