Jazz up your crap has happened again

This is something I finished this last week but realized I had forgotten to share over here.  This is my jazzed up broken ass guitar.  It has been jazzed up from one end to the other.  It has a hand sewn clown head.  Then the whole thing has been painted and then inside turned into a doll house/dream world.  Here is a link if you would like to see close ups of the photos.  https://www.etsy.com/listing/159716178/guitar-doll-house-diorama-crazy-town?ref=shop_home_feat

Dead guitar getting new life

So look at this shit I am doing a second post in a week or two.  So here is the story.  I do Jazz up crap for people when they ask but often I just take it on myself to jazz up some crap. This broken Fender came to me from a guy names Doug on Freecycle.  Thanks Doug.  I told him what I was going to do with it just in case he would not be happy about it but Doug was awesome and said cool can you send me photos.  I also left Doug a random painting as thanks for this and another guitar.  So Now I needed to make something.  Well my friend showed me a gorgeous little doll house a lady made for her daughter from one and that inspired me to do my own little doll house style diorama.

The picture above it the first most basic steps in the progress and more will come as this project comes together.  For now it looks like a guitar with eyes and a giant gaping mouth.
Hope you enjoyed your jazz up your crap in progress.

Sharpie and alcohol jazzing up a doily

So I love to jazz up crap for other people but this was first not really crap just a little dull and I wanted to make it work for me.   So the above photo is of some plain white doilies my friend sent me.  I love them and am using some as plain white but I wanted to do something special with this one.  It is for the Fall.  I love decorating for the fall and wanted it to match my Fall decorations and be the place to set a ceramic pumpkin I love.  So I tried out a cool thing I saw in a crafting group.  I used sharpie to make a design.
This was my design I was hoping it would melt some and become like a water color.  Now some people say to pull the fabric tight and use an eye dropper.  I am sure those work great but I applied the alcohol with a paint brush.  Then at the end I gave it a quick wash in alcohol and rinsed and dried.
This is what I ended up with and I love it.  This will be perfect for my Fall decorations and it was easy and fun to do.  So there you go folks jazz up your crap.  Also I do not remember what link I saw first but I like this one so here it is.  http://handmakemyday.com/2012/04/30/crafternoon-sharpie-marker-scarves/
